My Journey to Becoming a Chiropractor

A man is adjusting a woman 's neck.

My path to becoming a chiropractor began in high school when I started experiencing debilitating headaches. These headaches would often escalate into migraines, causing intense throbbing and pounding in my head, along with blurred vision, sensitivity to light, and numbness across my face. The pain was so severe at times that I couldn’t speak—the words were there, but they simply wouldn’t come out. The only option was to go home and try to sleep it off.

For years, I suffered from these headaches, typically one to two times a month. Conventional medicine offered no solutions. Desperate for relief, my mum decided to seek help from a chiropractor who lived on our street. This chiropractor was also a naturopath.

After a thorough examination, he discovered a subluxation in my neck. He explained that this misalignment was putting pressure on my nervous system, which was likely the root cause of my headaches. When he adjusted my neck, it felt like a firecracker had gone off—sudden, intense relief. For the first time in years, I felt like blood was flowing freely to my brain again. The difference was incredible, and I couldn’t believe how much better I felt. Since that adjustment, I’ve never experienced headaches like those again.

This powerful healing experience was a turning point for me. It motivated me to become a chiropractor so I could help others find the same relief I had found. I also gained a deep appreciation for the importance of proper spinal movement and function. When the spine isn’t functioning properly, it can disrupt the body’s ability to balance and express optimal health.

The spine encases the nervous system, and any interference or misalignment can affect how the body expresses itself, heals, and maintains wellness at every level. Since becoming a chiropractor, I’ve seen firsthand the body’s incredible ability to heal itself once subluxations and nerve interference are removed.

At Naturally Well Chiropractic, our mission is to help you be at your best. We focus on optimizing the function of your nervous system and spine so you can experience health and wellness to the fullest. If you’ve been struggling with pain or discomfort, I encourage you to come in and get checked today.

Improve Your Mobility with Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) Many people believe that mobility simply means being flexible. They stretch their hamstrings, loosen their shoulders, or try to touch their toes. While flexibility can be helpful, true mobility is something different . Mobility is your usable range of motion — the range you can actively control with strength and stability. At Naturally Well Chiropractic , we often work with patients who feel stiff, restricted, or limited in their movement. One of the most effective systems we use to improve joint function and mobility is functional range conditioning (FRC) . FRC is a science-based approach that focuses on improving joint health, expanding range of motion, and building strength at the edges of your mobility .
