The Importance of Joint and Spinal Health: How Daily Movement Can Transform Your Wellbeing

Hello everyone,

I’m Dr. Luke Pocock from Naturally Well Chiropractic, and today, I want to dive into something fundamental: joint and spinal health. As a chiropractor, I’ve spent years learning about the body and how to help patients manage joint and spinal issues. What I’ve found is simple but powerful—movement is key, and it’s something you can start prioritizing today!

Why Joint Health Matters

Your joints keep you moving, connecting your bones, supporting your body’s weight, and allowing flexibility. But they can also be sources of stiffness, tightness, or even chronic soreness if neglected. Maintaining joint health is crucial not just for comfort but for preserving mobility and independence as you age. The spine, as the backbone of the body, affects every area of movement, from the neck to the lower back, and it plays a huge role in how you feel day to day.

Movement is Medicine

Joint health relies heavily on regular movement. After long hours on my feet, which is common in chiropractic work, I started experiencing the usual stiffness and soreness that many of you probably feel after a busy day. Over time, I realized how important it was to move my joints through their full range every day. That’s where Controlled Articular Rotations, or CARS, came in—and it has been a game changer for me.

How CARS Changed My Routine

CARS are simple, daily movements designed to keep joints healthy by moving them through their full range of motion. They’re easy to fit into your routine and take only a few minutes per day, but the results have been incredible. Since incorporating CARS into my own routine, the constant aches and soreness after a long day have faded. I now feel ready to tackle every day with less stiffness and more ease.

The Power of a Daily CARS Routine

A daily CARS routine is effective because it keeps all joints—shoulders, hips, knees, wrists, and even the spine—active and moving. Regular movement reduces joint stiffness, enhances circulation, and nourishes cartilage. When done consistently, CARS can:

• Maintain and improve joint mobility

• Decrease stiffness and soreness

• Support spinal health

• Reduce the risk of joint injuries

My Video Routine to Get Started

I’ve put together a video of a daily CARS routine (Full Body CARs) you can follow to help support your joint health and wellness. This routine is simple, flexible, and can be done in just a few minutes each day. My advice? Give it a go, be consistent, and you’ll start noticing the difference in no time.

Whether you’re on your feet all day or spend long hours at a desk, I encourage you to make joint and spinal health a priority. Movement is a powerful form of self-care, and CARS can make all the difference. I can personally vouch for the effectiveness, and I hope it brings you the same relief and vitality I’ve experienced.

Take care, keep moving, and let’s keep our joints and spines healthy together!

Regards,

Dr. Luke

Improve Your Mobility with Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) Many people believe that mobility simply means being flexible. They stretch their hamstrings, loosen their shoulders, or try to touch their toes. While flexibility can be helpful, true mobility is something different . Mobility is your usable range of motion — the range you can actively control with strength and stability. At Naturally Well Chiropractic , we often work with patients who feel stiff, restricted, or limited in their movement. One of the most effective systems we use to improve joint function and mobility is functional range conditioning (FRC) . FRC is a science-based approach that focuses on improving joint health, expanding range of motion, and building strength at the edges of your mobility .
